
Topography of Guna
Guna is well defined by the Parbati River on the western boundary and is located on the north-eastern part of Malwa Plateau. The district of Guna is bounded on the east by Ashoknagar district. Rajgarh district is on the southwest of Guna. On the northeast is the Shivpuri district while on the west and northwest lies Baran and Jhalawar districts of Rajasthan. Vidisha district forms the southeast boundary of the region. The two main rivers flowing through Guna district are Parbati and Sindh. The Sindh River forms a part of the boundary with Ashoknagar district by flowing northward along the eastern edge of the district. The Parvati river forms a part of the boundary with Baran district by flowing northwestward through the southern portion of the district flowing to rajasthan. The Guna district was split into two with the eastern portion forming the Ashoknagar district in the year 2003.Climatic of Guna
The town of Guna experiences dry tropical climate. Guna does not receive much rainfall compared to other regions of Madhya Pradesh . The months March, April, May and June are the summer months. The temperatures soar up to 48 °C in summer. There is hot and dry climate during summers and hence it is not ideal to visit Guna during the summer months.The southwestern monsoon season falls in the months from mid June to September. The post monsoon months are October and November. In Guna, the cold season is from December to February. The maximum temperature during the winter months is normally around 27 °C.
